The Pharisees also, with the Saducees, came, and temptyng, desired hym that he woulde shewe them a signe from heauen.
And other tempted him, and required of hym a signe from heauen.
And as they spake vnto ye people, the priestes & the ruler of the temple, and the saducees, came vpon them,
Then Iesus sayde vnto them: Take heede and beware of the leuen of the Pharisees, and of the Saducees.
For the Iewes require a signe, & the Grekes seke after wisedome:
This they sayde to tempte hym, that they myght accuse hym. But Iesus stowped downe, and with his fynger wrote on the grounde.
Then the chiefe priest rose vp, and all they that were with hym, which is the sect of the Saducees, and were full of indignation:
Then came to hym certayne of the saducees, which denie that there is any resurrection, and they asked hym,
He perceaued their craftynesse, & saide vnto them: why tempt ye me?
And beholde, a certaine lawyer stoode vp, and tempted him, saying: Maister, what shall I do to inherite eternal lyfe? He sayde vnto hym:
There came also vnto hym, the Saducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and they asked hym, saying:
Ought we to geue, or ought we not to geue? But he seeyng their hypocrisie, sayde vnto them: Why tempt ye me? Bryng me a penie, that I may see it.
And the pharisees came, and asked hym: Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wyfe? temptyng hym.
The next day that folowed the day of preparyng, the hye priestes and pharisees came together vnto Pilate,
Saying: The Scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moyses seate.
The same day came to hym the Saducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked hym,
But Iesus perceauyng their wickednesse, sayde: Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
Then went the Pharisees, and toke councell how they myght intangle hym in his talke.
The pharisees also came vnto hym, temptyng hym, and saying vnto hym: Is it lawfull for a man to put away his wyfe, for euery cause?
Then came to Iesus Scribes and Pharisees, which were come from Hierusalem, saying:
Then the Pharisees went out, and helde a counsayle agaynst him, howe they might destroy hym.
And when the Pharisees sawe it, they sayde vnto his disciples: Why eateth your maister with publicans and sinners?
For I say vnto you: except your righteousnes, excede the righteousnes of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall not enter into the kyngdome of heauen.
But make the foole an aunswere to his foolishnesse, lest he be wyse in his owne conceipt
