And Iosuah sayde: Alas, O Lorde God, wherfore hast thou brought this people ouer Iordane, to deliuer vs into the hande of the Amorites, & to destroye vs? Would to God we had ben content, and dwelt on the other side Iordane

Then Dauid toke holde on his clothes, and rent them, and so did all the men that were with him

And it fortuned, that when the king had hearde the wordes of the booke of the lawe, he rent his clothes
