My lovers and my friends keep away from my disease; my relations keep far away.

Those who have a desire to take my life put nets for me; those who are designing my destruction say evil things against me, all the day their minds are full of deceit.

You have sent my friends and lovers far from me; I am gone from the memory of those who are dear to me.

You have sent my friends far away from me; you have made me a disgusting thing in their eyes: I am shut up, and not able to come out.

The property of the man of wealth is his strong town: the poor man's need is his destruction.

The poor man is hated even by his neighbour, but the man of wealth has numbers of friends.

Wealth makes a great number of friends; but the poor man is parted from his friend.

Do not give up your friend and your father's friend; and do not go into your brother's house in the day of your trouble: better is a neighbour who is near than a brother far off.

But you have put the poor man to shame. Are not the men of wealth rulers over you? do they not take you by force before their judges?
