“Here is how it will be: I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; therefore you should be as crafty [Note: The Greek word here is “sensible”] as snakes, yet as harmless [Note: The Greek word is “sincere”] as doves.

When He had come into the Temple, the leading priests and elders of the [Jewish] people came to Him while He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are you doing these things [i.e., miracles and teaching]? And who gave you this authority?”

Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it permitted by the Law of Moses to do something good or to do something harmful on the Sabbath day? To save a life or to destroy it?”
