So, He sent two of His disciples, saying to them, “Go into the city [of Jerusalem] and there a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you; follow him.
For I also am a man [who serves] under the authority [of others], and I have soldiers [who serve] under me. I can say to this one ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another one, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my slave ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
Now on the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread [i.e., the beginning of the Passover Festival week], when they sacrificed the Passover [lamb], Jesus’ disciples said to Him, “Where do you want us to go to make preparations for you to eat the Passover meal?”
And wherever he enters a house [follow him inside and] say to the owner, ‘The Teacher says, where is my guest room where I can eat the Passover meal with my disciples?’
I do not call you slaves anymore, for a slave does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because I have told you everything that I heard from my
Father.
