so He went to her, took her by the hand and raised her up [from bed]. The fever left her and she began serving them.

Peter then reached out his hand and raised her up; he called the saints [i.e., God’s holy people] and the widows [back into the room] and presented her [to them] alive.

And taking the child by the hand He said to her, “Talitha cumi,” which means “Little girl,” (I tell you), “get up. ”

These women had ministered to Jesus’ needs when they followed Him from Galilee. Others watching were many women who had come up to Jerusalem with Him.

And many women, who had followed Jesus from Galilee and had ministered to His needs, were watching [all this] from a distance.

Now Simon’s mother-in-law was sick [in bed] with a fever. Immediately, Jesus was told about her [condition]

When evening came and the sun had set, they brought to Jesus all those who were sick and those dominated by evil spirits.
