Then one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have a meal with him. So, He went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the [dinner] table. [Note: Matt. 23:6].
Now while Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee [i.e., a strict sect of the Jewish religion] invited Him to have a meal with him. So, Jesus went in [to his house] and reclined [at the dinner table]. [Note: See Matt. 23:6].
And it happened on a Sabbath day, when Jesus went to the house of one of the leading Pharisees for a meal, that they [i.e., probably other Pharisees who were also guests] were watching Him closely.
[Then] the Son of man came eating and drinking [at festive occasions] and you said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and worldly people.’
And when a sinful woman from the town learned that He was having dinner at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster [i.e., stone] jar of liquid perfume,
