And when there is a south wind blowing, you say, ‘It is going to be a scorching day,’ and sure enough, it is.
saying, ‘These men [you hired] last have worked only one hour and you gave them wages equal to ours when we carried the heaviest load of the day’s work and [put up with] the scorching heat [all day long].’
But when you give money to help poor people, do not allow your left hand to know what your right hand is doing [i.e., do it inconspicuously]
