And Abraham replied, ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded [even] if someone rises from the dead [i.e., to come back and warn them].’”
[So], believe in the Light [i.e., Jesus is speaking of Himself] while you [still] have the Light [with you], so that you can become enlightened people.” After Jesus said these things, He left there and hid Himself from them.
This was so that these words, which Isaiah the prophet had spoken, would be fulfilled [Isa. 53:1], “Lord, who has believed our message? And who has the Lord’s power been shown to?”
This was the beginning of Jesus’ [miraculous] signs, which He performed in Cana in Galilee. [In doing this] He demonstrated His glorious power and His disciples believed in Him.
