“For it was written [about Judas] in the book of Psalms [69:25]: ‘Let the place where he lives become deserted, with no one living there’ and [Psa. 109:8] ‘Let someone else fill his ministry.’

and has now fulfilled to [us], their children, in raising up Jesus [to be the Messiah], just as it was written in the second Psalm [2:7]: ‘You [i.e., Jesus] are my Son; this day I have become Your Father.’

Then Jesus said to the apostles, “These are the words that I told you while I was still with you, [when I said] that everything written in the Law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms about me needed to be fulfilled.”

[He said], “Brothers, it was necessary that the Scriptures be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke through King David about Judas, who guided the soldiers who came to arrest Jesus.
