He has also made us competent as ministers of a New Agreement [i.e., between Himself and mankind]. And because you are [His] children, God sent the Holy Spirit of His Son into our hearts, to call out, “Abba,” [which means] “Father.”

For you brothers were called [by God] to enjoy your freedom; but do not use this freedom as an excuse for living a sinful life; instead, use it to render loving service to each other.

For God did not give us a spirit [i.e., a disposition] that makes us cowards but one that gives us power and love and self-control.
