And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you,” or again, the head [cannot say] to the feet, “I do not need you.”
If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If the whole body were an ear, how could it smell?
But the way it is, there are many parts, but one body.
On the contrary, those parts of the body which seem to be weaker [i.e., delicate organs like the heart, lungs, kidneys, etc.] are necessary [for life].
