And after the seven days the floodwaters came upon the earth or land.

For in seven days I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance and thing that I have made I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away from the face of the earth.

And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a newly sprouted and freshly plucked olive leaf! So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the land.

Then he waited another seven days and sent forth the dove, but she did not return to him any more.

But the dove found no resting-place on which to roost, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were [yet] on the face of the whole land. So he put forth his hand and drew her to him into the ark.

I WAITED patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry.

Yes, in the path of Your judgments, O Lord, we wait [expectantly] for You; our heartfelt desire is for Your name and for the remembrance of You.

And I will wait for the Lord, Who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; and I will look for and hope in Him.

But if we hope for what is still unseen by us, we wait for it with patience and composure.
