And the captain of the guard put them in Joseph's charge, and he served them; and they continued in custody for some time.

So he asked Pharaoh's officers who were in custody with him in his master's house, Why do you look so dejected and sad today?

And they put him in custody until the will of the Lord might be declared to them.

So they laid hands on them (arrested them) and put them in prison until the following day, for it was already evening.

They seized and arrested the apostles (special messengers) and put them in the public jail.

For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.
