But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said, Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken [as your own], for she is a man's wife.

But the Lord scourged Pharaoh and his household with serious plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.

And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?

So now restore to the man his wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not restore her [to him], know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.

And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night, and said, Jacob! Jacob! And he said, Here am I.

He allowed no man to do them wrong; yes, He reproved kings for their sakes, [Gen. 12:17; 20:3; Exod. 7:15-18.]

[One may hear God's voice] in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men while slumbering upon the bed,

That He may withdraw man from his purpose and cut off pride from him [disgusting him with his own disappointing self-sufficiency].

He allowed no man to do them wrong; in fact, He reproved kings for their sakes, [Gen. 12:17; 20:3-7.]

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!

And God came to Balaam, and said, What men are these with you?

But as he was thinking this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary [as] your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of (from, out of) the Holy Spirit.

Also, while he was seated on the judgment bench, his wife sent him a message, saying, Have nothing to do with that just and upright Man, for I have had a painful experience today in a dream because of Him.
