Then Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
[Just ask] if the men of my tent will not say, Who can find one in need who has not been satisfied with food he gave them?–
The wicked plot against the [uncompromisingly] righteous (the upright in right standing with God); they gnash at them with their teeth.
Their feet are swift to shed blood.
And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
And when the messengers came in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats' hair at its head.
Saul heeded Jonathan and swore, As the Lord lives, David shall not be slain.
