Then messengers came to Gibeah of Saul and told the news in the ears of the people; and all the people wept aloud.

Esau said to his father, Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father! And Esau lifted up [could not control] his voice and wept aloud.

Let seven men of his sons be delivered to us and we will hang them up before the Lord at Gibeah of Saul, [on the mountain] of the Lord. And the king said, I will give them.

Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are ill-treated, since you also are liable to bodily sufferings.

When the Angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the Israelites, the people lifted up their voice and wept.

And the Israelites went up and wept before the Lord until evening and asked of the Lord, Shall we go up again to battle against our brethren the Benjamites? And the Lord said, Go up against them.

Then all the Israelites, the whole army, went up and came to the house of God [Bethel] and wept; and they sat there before the Lord and fasted that day until evening and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

And the Israelites came to the house of God [Bethel] and sat there until evening before God and lifted up their voices and wept bitterly. [Judg. 20:27.]

Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of valiant men whose hearts God had touched.

Saul was remaining in the outskirts of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree in Migron; and with him were about 600 men,

Then Samuel went to Ramah, but Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.

Then David and the men with him lifted up their voices and wept until they had no more strength to weep.
