I would lead thee, {\i and} bring thee into my mother's house,\par\tab Who would instruct me;\par\tab I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine,\par\tab Of the juice of my pomegranate.

And we have the word of prophecy {\i made} more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:

Oh that thou wert as my brother,\par\tab That sucked the breasts of my mother!\par\tab {\i When} I should find thee without, I would kiss thee;\par\tab Yea, and none would despise me.
