What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who followed not after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith:

And Isaiah is very bold, and saith,\par\tab {\b I was found of them that sought me not;\par\tab I became manifest unto them that asked not of me.}

But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, {\b Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?} (that is, to bring Christ down:)

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek Jehovah: look unto the rock whence ye were hewn, and to the hold of the pit whence ye were digged.

For the time past may suffice to have wrought the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries:

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

So that the law is become our tutor {\i to bring us} unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand unto Abraham, {\i saying}, {\b In thee shall all the nations be blessed.}

for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, did not arrive at {\i that} law.

Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

Wherefore also {\b it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.}

For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed that he should be heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith.

Is this blessing then pronounced upon the circumcision, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say, {\b To Abraham his faith was reckoned for righteousness.}

But if our unrighteousness commendeth the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who visiteth with wrath? (I speak after the manner of men.)

He that followeth after righteousness and kindness\par\tab Findeth life, righteousness, and honor.

The way of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah;\par\tab But he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
