for {\i the children} being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth,
who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,
not by works {\i done} in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
These shall war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them, for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they {\i also shall overcome} that are with him, called and chosen and faithful.
And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.
(as it is written, {\b A father of many nations have I made thee}) before him whom he believed, {\i even} God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.
among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—
exhorting you, and encouraging {\i you}, and testifying, to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.\par
And the land trembleth and is in pain; for the purposes of Jehovah against Babylon do stand, to make the land of Babylon a desolation, without inhabitant.
