Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry; behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty; behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be put to shame;

and when the sun was risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

Look not upon me, because I am swarthy,\par\tab Because the sun hath scorched me.\par\tab My mother's sons were incensed against me;\par\tab They made me keeper of the vineyards;\par\tab {\i But} mine own vineyard have I not kept.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:\par\tab When shall I come and appear before God?

For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass; and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings.\par

and they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway they stumble.

yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway he stumbleth.

And a man shall be as a hiding-place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest, as streams of water in a dry place, as the shade of a great rock in a weary land.
