And they forgat his doings,\par\tab And his wondrous works that he had showed them.

They soon forgat his works;\par\tab They waited not for his counsel,

Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

That they might set their hope in God,\par\tab And not forget the works of God,\par\tab But keep his commandments,

Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, And hast forgotten God that gave thee birth.
