My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold;\par\tab And my revenue than choice silver.

The tongue of the righteous is {\i as} choice silver:\par\tab The heart of the wicked is little worth.

For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver,\par\tab And the profit thereof than fine gold.

For wisdom is a defence, even as money is a defence; but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom preserveth the life of him that hath it.

Receive my instruction, and not silver;\par\tab And knowledge rather than choice gold.

It cannot be gotten for gold,\par\tab Neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it,\par\tab Neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

I walk in the way of righteousness,\par\tab In the midst of the paths of justice;

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!\par\tab Yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.
