And I beheld among the simple ones,\par\tab I discerned among the youths,\par\tab A young man void of understanding,
He that committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding:\par\tab He doeth it who would destroy his own soul.
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?\par\tab And scoffers delight them in scoffing,\par\tab And fools hate knowledge?
And he said, {\cf6 Are ye also even yet without understanding?
For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.\par
In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found;\par\tab But a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither;\par\tab And as for him that is void of understanding, she saith to him,

Smite a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence;\par\tab And reprove one that hath understanding, {\i and} he will understand knowledge.
Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good;\par\tab And he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
The simple inherit folly;\par\tab But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
The simple believeth every word;\par\tab But the prudent man looketh well to his going.
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread;\par\tab But he that followeth after vain {\i persons} is void of understanding.
The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul:\par\tab The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.
The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight,\par\tab Saying, No eye shall see me:\par\tab And he disguiseth his face.
