Lest strangers be filled with thy strength,\par\tab And thy labors {\i be} in the house of an alien,
Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth {\i it} not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, and he knoweth {\i it} not.
Give not thy strength unto women,\par\tab Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
He will not regard any ransom;\par\tab Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.\par
but when this thy son came, who hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou killedst for him the fatted calf.
Lest thou give thine honor unto others,\par\tab And thy years unto the cruel;
And thou mourn at thy latter end,\par\tab When thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
For on account of a harlot {\i a man is brought} to a piece of bread;\par\tab And the adulteress hunteth for the precious life.
Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father;\par\tab But he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth his substance.
