Proverbs 27:11

My son, be wise, and make my heart glad,\par\tab That I may answer him that reproacheth me.

The proverbs of Solomon.\par\par\tab A wise son maketh a glad father;\par\tab But a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

So shall I have an answer for him that reproacheth me;\par\tab For I trust in thy word.

I rejoice greatly that I have found {\i certain} of thy children walking in truth, even as we received commandment from the Father.

For I had much joy and comfort in thy love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother.\par

Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father;\par\tab But he that keepeth company with harlots wasteth his substance.

A wise son maketh a glad father;\par\tab But a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Now therefore be wise, O ye kings:\par\tab Be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit\par\tab Than seven men that can render a reason.

A prudent man seeth the evil, {\i and} hideth himself;\par\tab {\i But} the simple pass on, {\i and} suffer for it.
