For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, railings:

casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray the Lord, if perhaps the thought of thy heart shall be forgiven thee.

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, {\cf6 Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

Scoffers set a city in a flame;\par\tab But wise men turn away wrath.

He that deviseth to do evil,\par\tab Men shall call him a mischief-maker.

but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

O Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thine evil thoughts lodge within thee?

And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

For as he thinketh within himself, so is he:\par\tab Eat and drink, saith he to thee;\par\tab But his heart is not with thee.

Cast out the scoffer, and contention will go out;\par\tab Yea, strife and ignominy will cease.

{\b SAMEKH.}\par\par\tab I hate them that are of a double mind;\par\tab But thy law do I love.

And Jehovah smelled the sweet savor; and Jehovah said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, for that the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more everything living, as I have done.

He that correcteth a scoffer getteth to himself reviling;\par\tab And he that reproveth a wicked man {\i getteth} himself a blot.

The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name;\par\tab He worketh in the arrogance of pride.
