He that gathereth in summer is a wise son;\par\tab {\i But} he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Provideth her bread in the summer,\par\tab And gathereth her food in the harvest.

The ants are a people not strong,\par\tab Yet they provide their food in the summer;

He that doeth violence to his father, and chaseth away his mother,\par\tab Is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach.

A servant that dealeth wisely shall have rule over a son that causeth shame,\par\tab And shall have part in the inheritance among the brethren.

A worthy woman is the crown of her husband;\par\tab But she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Go to the ant, thou sluggard;\par\tab Consider her ways, and be wise:

He becometh poor that worketh with a slack hand;\par\tab But the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Blessings are upon the head of the righteous;\par\tab But violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

The hay is carried, and the tender grass showeth itself,\par\tab And the herbs of the mountains are gathered in.
