And when Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, {\cf6 They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.}\par

For I desire goodness, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt-offerings.

I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.}\par

But if ye had known what this meaneth, {\b I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,} ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

To do righteousness and justice\par\tab Is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord;

And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.\par

Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Him did God exalt with his right hand {\i to be} a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

and that repentance unto remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

From that time began Jesus to preach, and to say, {\cf6 Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.}\par

And Peter {\i said} unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance:

testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus saith unto them, {\cf6 Did ye never read in the scriptures,\par\tab {\b The stone which the builders rejected,\par\tab The same was made the head of the corner;\par\tab This was from the Lord,\par\tab And it is marvelous in our eyes}?

But he said unto them, {\cf6 Have ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, and they that were with him;

But as touching the dead, that they are raised; have ye not read in the book of Moses, in {\i the place concerning} the Bush, how God spake unto him, saying, {\b I {\i am} the God of Abraham, and {\i the} God of Isaac, and {\i the} God of Jacob}?

Jesus answered them, {\cf6 Is it not written in your law, {\b I said, Ye are gods}?

And he answered and said, {\cf6 Have ye not read, that he who created {\i them} from the beginning {\b made them male and female,}

Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are guiltless?

And he said unto him, {\cf6 What is written in the law? how readest thou?}

{\b and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself,} is much more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

And Jesus answering said unto them, {\cf6 They that are in health have no need of a physician; but they that are sick.
