By their fruits ye shall know them. Do {\i men} gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives, or a vine figs? neither {\i can} salt water yield sweet.\par

Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.

Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

As saith the proverb of the ancients, Out of the wicked cometh forth wickedness; but my hand shall not be upon thee.

Even a child maketh himself known by his doings,\par\tab Whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from the works, and I by my works will show thee the faith.
