But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders {\i of their garments},

for they loved the glory {\i that is} of men more than the glory {\i that is} of God.\par

for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.

And he said unto them, {\cf6 Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that {\i cometh} from the only God ye seek not?

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.

Look to yourselves, that ye lose not the things which we have wrought, but that ye receive a full reward.

And he charged them, saying, {\cf6 Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.}

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen of men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have received their reward.

And Jesus said unto them, {\cf6 Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.}

And he said unto them, Take heed, and keep yourselves from all covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.}\par

Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.\par

Look therefore whether the light that is in thee be not darkness.

He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy;\par\tab His righteousness endureth for ever:\par\tab His horn shall be exalted with honor.

In the mean time, when the many thousands of the multitude were gathered together, insomuch that they trod one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, {\cf6 Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, {\i even} these least, ye did it unto me.

For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh {\i month}, even these seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.\par

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before Jehovah thy God.

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away {\i from them}.

Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if there may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.\par

accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and {\b then shall he render unto every man according to his deeds.}

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of Jehovah, the God of Israel, with all his heart: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, wherewith he made Israel to sin.

And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for Jehovah. So they made him ride in his chariot.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he prophesieth; neither shall they wear a hairy mantle to deceive:

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this man? or why fasten ye your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?
