But should we say, From men—they feared the multitude: for all verily held John to be a prophet.

And the chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, for all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.\par

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

Now after two days was {\i the feast of} the passover and the unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him with subtlety, and kill him:

And while he was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster cruse of ointment of pure nard very costly; {\i and} she brake the cruse, and poured it over his head.

Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
