I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.}\par

And he said unto them, {\cf6 Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.\par

And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled; and whosoever shall humble himself shall be exalted.\par

A man's pride shall bring him low;\par\tab But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore {\i the scripture} saith, {\b God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.}

He hath put down princes from {\i their} thrones,\par\tab And hath exalted them of low degree.

For though Jehovah is high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly;\par\tab But the haughty he knoweth from afar.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Surely he scoffeth at the scoffers;\par\tab But he giveth grace unto the lowly.

How then can man be just with God?\par\tab Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness.

because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight; for through the law {\i cometh} the knowledge of sin.\par

But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

Before destruction the heart of man is haughty;\par\tab And before honor {\i goeth} humility.

The fear of Jehovah is the instruction of wisdom;\par\tab And before honor {\i goeth} humility.\par

When they cast {\i thee} down, thou shalt say, {\i There is} lifting up;\par\tab And the humble person he will save.

And she said, Let thy handmaid find favor in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat; and her countenance was no more sad.

Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all gods; yea, in the thing wherein they dealt proudly against them.

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth;

Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.\par

He shall see of the travail of his soul, {\i and} shall be satisfied: by the knowledge of himself shall my righteous servant justify many; and he shall bear their iniquities.

In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.\par

Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me:\par\tab Though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.

Behold, his soul is puffed up, it is not upright in him; but the righteous shall live by his faith.

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God hath already accepted thy works.

And enter not into judgment with thy servant;\par\tab For in thy sight no man living is righteous.

For all these things hath my hand made, and {\i so} all these things came to be, saith Jehovah: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and that trembleth at my word.

For better is it that it be said unto thee, Come up hither,\par\tab Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince,\par\tab Whom thine eyes have seen.
