Sell that which ye have, and give alms; make for yourselves purses which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief draweth near, neither moth destroyeth.
Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world {\i to be} rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?
And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, {\cf6 One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.}
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.
I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and {\i that} the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest; and eyesalve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
