These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him {\i to be} Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.

Yet no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.\par

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you {\i from their company}, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.\par

But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.\par

But of the rest durst no man join himself to them: howbeit the people magnified them;

And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first {\i day} of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, {\cf6 Peace {\i be} unto you.}

And after these things Joseph of Arimath\'e6a, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave {\i him} leave. He came therefore, and took away his body.

And of whom hast thou been afraid and in fear, that thou liest, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of long time, and thou fearest me not?

I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou art afraid of man that shall die, and of the son of man that shall be made as grass;

Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye dismayed at their revilings.

The fear of man bringeth a snare;\par\tab But whoso putteth his trust in Jehovah shall be safe.

And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent unto him from Jerusalem priests and Levites to ask him, Who art thou?

The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,

but how he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not: ask him; he is of age; he shall speak for himself.

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and finding him, he said, {\cf6 Dost thou believe on the Son of man?}
