I am afraid of all my sorrows,\par\tab I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
My flesh trembleth for fear of thee;\par\tab And I am afraid of thy judgments.\par
If thou, Jehovah, shouldest mark iniquities,\par\tab O Lord, who could stand?
Even when I remember I am troubled,\par\tab And horror taketh hold on my flesh.
But now thou numberest my steps:\par\tab Dost thou not watch over my sin?
If I sin, then thou markest me,\par\tab And thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity.
Of a truth I know that it is so:\par\tab But how can man be just with God?
And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity?\par\tab For now shall I lie down in the dust;\par\tab And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be.\par
For the thing which I fear cometh upon me,\par\tab And that which I am afraid of cometh unto me.
Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Though I speak, my grief is not assuaged;\par\tab And though I forbear, what am I eased?
Behold, he findeth occasions against me,\par\tab He counteth me for his enemy:
