I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment.

And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make, saith Jehovah of hosts.\par

I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be.

Jehovah will root up the house of the proud;\par\tab But he will establish the border of the widow.

Through God we shall do valiantly;\par\tab For he it is that will tread down our adversaries.\par

Desire not the night,\par\tab When peoples are cut off in their place.

Jehovah maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, he also lifteth up.

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.\par

For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low;

And I will thrust thee from thine office; and from thy station shalt thou be pulled down.

Jehovah of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

We have heard of the pride of Moab, {\i that} he is very proud; his loftiness, and his pride, and his arrogancy, and the haughtiness of his heart.

this is the interpretation, O king, and it is the decree of the Most High, which is come upon my lord the king:

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.\par

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth:\par\tab Render to the proud {\i their} desert.
