Bring forth therefore fruit worthy of repentance:

He delivereth the afflicted by their affliction,\par\tab And openeth their ear in oppression.

The Lord Jehovah hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away backward.

Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from of old thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou didst deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

Sacrifice and offering thou hast no delight in;\par\tab Mine ears hast thou opened:\par\tab Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required.

Take heed, regard not iniquity:\par\tab For this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and beast, and let them cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.

I said, Only fear thou me; receive correction; so her dwelling shall not be cut off, {\i according to} all that I have appointed concerning her: but they rose early and corrupted all their doings.\par
