So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
I am clean, without transgression;\par\tab I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:
Although thou knowest that I am not wicked,\par\tab And there is none that can deliver out of thy hand?\par
There the upright might reason with him;\par\tab So should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope:\par\tab Nevertheless I will maintain my ways before him.
I will say unto God, Do not condemn me;\par\tab Show me wherefore thou contendest with me.
Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice;\par\tab Yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
Behold now, I have set my cause in order;\par\tab I know that I am righteous.
For thine iniquity teacheth thy mouth,\par\tab And thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
Is not thy wickedness great?\par\tab Neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing,\par\tab And I have heard the voice of {\i thy} words, {\i saying},
Wilt thou even annul my judgment?\par\tab Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?
