Their houses are safe from fear,\par\tab Neither is the rod of God upon them.
They are not in trouble as {\i other} men;\par\tab Neither are they plagued like {\i other} men.
Let him take his rod away from me,\par\tab And let not his terror make me afraid:
How are they become a desolation in a moment!\par\tab They are utterly consumed with terrors.
Terrors shall make him afraid on every side,\par\tab And shall chase him at his heels.
A sound of terrors is in his ears;\par\tab In prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
The tents of robbers prosper,\par\tab And they that provoke God are secure;\par\tab Into whose hand God bringeth {\i abundantly}.\par
Their bull gendereth, and faileth not;\par\tab Their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
Then will I visit their transgression with the rod,\par\tab And their iniquity with stripes.
