Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away {\i from them}.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Hear my words, ye wise men;\par\tab And give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech,\par\tab And hearken to all my words.

How long will ye hunt for words?\par\tab Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

I have heard many such things:\par\tab Miserable comforters are ye all.

Are the consolations of God too small for thee,\par\tab Even the word that is gentle toward thee?

And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood on the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, ye men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

Then Job answered and said,

Suffer me, and I also will speak;\par\tab And after that I have spoken, mock on.

Hear now my reasoning,\par\tab And hearken to the pleadings of my lips.

Hear diligently my speech,\par\tab And let my declaration be in your ears.
