Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place: Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite, and they made an appointment together to come to bemoan him and to comfort him.

And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are ill-treated, as being yourselves also in the body.

These two things are befallen thee, who shall bemoan thee? desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort thee?

Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;\par\tab And go not to thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:\par\tab Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.

He that maketh many friends {\i doeth it} to his own destruction;\par\tab But there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.\par

And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

All my familiar friends abhor me,\par\tab And they whom I loved are turned against me.

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

My friends scoff at me:\par\tab {\i But} mine eye poureth out tears unto God,

Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

But ye are forgers of lies;\par\tab Ye are all physicians of no value.

Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

And Ephraim their father mourned many days, and his brethren came to comfort him.

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as Jehovah commanded them: and Jehovah accepted Job.

And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.\par

And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

and Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.

Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,

Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
