Where then is my hope?\par\tab And as for my hope, who shall see it?
Behold, he will slay me; I have no hope:\par\tab Nevertheless I will maintain my ways before him.
He hath broken me down on every side, and I am gone;\par\tab And my hope hath he plucked up like a tree.
What is my strength, that I should wait?\par\tab And what is mine end, that I should be patient?
Is not thy fear {\i of God} thy confidence,\par\tab {\i And} the integrity of thy ways thy hope?
My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle,\par\tab And are spent without hope.
I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol:\par\tab I am deprived of the residue of my years.
And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.\par
The waters wear the stones;\par\tab The overflowings thereof wash away the dust of the earth:\par\tab So thou destroyest the hope of man.
Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.
