O earth, cover not thou my blood,\par\tab And let my cry have no {\i resting}-place.
For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust.
For, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.\par
And now cursed art thou from the ground, which hath opened its mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Jehovah.
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Will God hear his cry,\par\tab When trouble cometh upon him?
and cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee; for they have provoked {\i thee} to anger before the builders.
Although there is no violence in my hands,\par\tab And my prayer is pure.\par
Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven,\par\tab And he that voucheth for me is on high.
{\b TAV.}\par\par\tab Let my cry come near before thee, O Jehovah:\par\tab Give me understanding according to thy word.
