The earth is given into the hand of the wicked;\par\tab He covereth the faces of the judges thereof:\par\tab If {\i it be} not {\i he}, who then is it?\par
{\b {\i A Psalm} of David.}\par\par\tab Fret not thyself because of evil-doers,\par\tab Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.
From men by thy hand, O Jehovah,\par\tab From men of the world, whose portion is in {\i this} life,\par\tab And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure:\par\tab They are satisfied with children,\par\tab And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?
They are waxed fat, they shine: yea, they overpass in deeds of wickedness; they plead not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
