I should have been as though I had not been;\par\tab I should have been carried from the womb to the grave.

{\i Let them be} as a snail which melteth and passeth away,\par\tab {\i Like} the untimely birth of a woman, that hath not seen the sun.

Why died I not from the womb?\par\tab Why did I not give up the ghost when my mother bare me?

Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb?\par\tab I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me.

Are not my days few? cease then,\par\tab And let me alone, that I may take comfort a little,

Because I was not cut off before the darkness,\par\tab Neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face.\par

because he slew me not from the womb; and so my mother would have been my grave, and her womb always great.

Or as a hidden untimely birth I had not been,\par\tab As infants that never saw light.
