Thus saith Jehovah, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirreth up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar; Jehovah of hosts is his name:

They shall fear thee while the sun endureth,\par\tab And so long as the moon, throughout all generations.

He stirreth up the sea with his power,\par\tab And by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab.

Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens?\par\tab Canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth?\par

They abide this day according to thine ordinances;\par\tab For all things are thy servants.

He hath also established them for ever and ever:\par\tab He hath made a decree which shall not pass away.

Thus saith Jehovah: If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, so that there shall not be day and night in their season;

Thus saith Jehovah: If my covenant of day and night {\i stand} not, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

I will ransom them from the power of Sheol; I will redeem them from death: O death, where are thy plagues? O Sheol, where is thy destruction? repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.\par

Behold, the eyes of the Lord Jehovah are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; save that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith Jehovah.

then will I also cast away the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and will have mercy on them.\par
