in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,—in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.
how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard;
And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, {\i even the word} of God, ye accepted {\i it} not {\i as} the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.

Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye will be hid in the day of Jehovah's anger.\par
Cast away from you all your transgressions, wherein ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and {\i in} much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we showed ourselves toward you for your sake.
