Thus saith Jehovah, What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne {\i by me} from their birth, that have been carried from the womb;

They draw nigh that follow after wickedness;\par\tab They are far from thy law.

But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.

Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

And all the people shall know, {\i even} Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in pride and in stoutness of heart,

And justice is turned away backward, and righteousness standeth afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and uprightness cannot enter.

For we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment: and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry.\par

Wherefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scoffers, that rule this people that is in Jerusalem:

Yea, truth is lacking; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey.\par\par\tab And Jehovah saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.

Ye who turn justice to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth,

Why dost thou show me iniquity, and look upon perverseness? for destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention riseth up.
