Concerning therefore the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is {\i anything} in the world, and that there is no God but one.

They that make them shall be like unto them;\par\tab Yea, every one that trusteth in them.

Behold, all of them, their works are vanity {\i and} nought; their molten images are wind and confusion.\par

But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock.

and upon her forehead a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF THE HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Every man is become brutish {\i and is} without knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his graven image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

And they shall go forth, and look upon the dead bodies of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.\par

and have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.

Cursed be the man that maketh a graven or molten image, an abomination unto Jehovah, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and setteth it up in secret. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, and become a devoted thing like unto it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.

For the perverse is an abomination to Jehovah;\par\tab But his friendship is with the upright.

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law,\par\tab Even his prayer is an abomination.

They are like a palm-tree, of turned work, and speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good.\par

They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
